Our client, an established MSP headquartered in Reigate, with over 80 clients, mainly based within the southeast, are seeking to expand and going through a period of dynamic change.

 

They are looking for an experienced Helpdesk Engineer, with a professional manner, good communication skills and the desire to further themselves in the industry. They will be supporting clients typically with 5 to 100 users and used to working in a busy helpdesk environment.

Overview

This role is primarily responsible for facilitating an excellent user experience. This is delivered by ensuring all systems and equipment that are required by the user are running efficiently and effectively. The role will be focused on supporting all front-end users with their requests as well as managing and monitoring systems in a way that allows us to pre-empt and resolve any system errors or failures.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Triaging all tickets logged via phone, email / web portal or alerts generated from systems like RMMs and Cloud Backups, resolving those at your level and where necessary escalating tickets promptly, with accurate information confirming steps taken so far, via the predefined escalation route.
  • Ensure that all incidents and requests are logged accurately and responded to within our given SLA.
  • Supporting users remotely over the telephone and via email with the possibility that once established within the company to also visit customer sites.
  • To ensure all queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently with the highest degree of customer service.
  • Ability to improve their technical skill set through self-improvement alongside any training we can offer.
  • Assisting the workshop engineer building and installing new PCs and laptops when required.
  • Advising how to set up email and security like MFA on user’s smartphones.

 

Key Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communicator with professional verbal and written communication
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Windows 10/11, Windows Server (specifically Active Directory and NTFS folder permissions), Office 365 and SharePoint, Mobile Device Management, iOS, Android, basic networking.
