Canary Wharf / Hybrid 3 days working from home

Full time – 37.5 Hours per week – Monday to Friday

Together, you will drive the development and maintenance of our client's cutting-edge digital platform, which powers multiple applications such as settlements tools, forecasting systems, calculation engines, data portals, and more. You will have the chance to make a meaningful impact by contributing to the UK's Net Zero by 2050 goal, collaborating with diverse project teams in nuclear, hydrogen, solar, and tidal power generation areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Hands-on coding role, actively involved in design and development.
  • Design highly scalable software solutions to improve functionality and system longevity.
  • Collaborate with technical business analysts and solution architects to fine-tune requirements.
  • Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
  • Develop new user-facing features using React.js.
  • Write front-end components using JavaScript, CSS, and integrate with back-end Python components.
  • Coordinate deployments, monitor successful integration.
  • Manage design, build, test, and bug fix prerogatives.
  • Prepare, review, and build reusable components and front-end libraries.
  • Participate in the maintenance and improvement of existing applications.
  • Optimize microservices for maximum performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.

 

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • 5+ years of Python coding, 3+ years using Django framework.
  • 3+ years of front-end coding, preferably React.
  • 1+ years of line management experience.
  • Experience with microservices and related tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Rabbit MQ, Apache Kafka).
  • RESTful API development and management, Transactional management.
  • Proficiency in databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and Linux OS.
  • Familiarity with data science libraries.
  • Performance tuning and solid understanding of design patterns.
  • DevOps tooling, GitLab, CI/CD, Jenkins, source control systems.
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure services.
  • Familiarity with other languages (e.g., C#, C) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
