UX/UI Designer

You will be responsible for translating research outcomes and business objectives into easy-to-use, emotionally appealing and beautifully visualised websites or  applications. As part of a multidiscipline design team the UX/UI designer will be expected to work across other marketing assets such as emails, banners, social media, presentations and communications.

A hybrid role, the UX/UI designer will identify key interactions for products or services, create prototypes to test concepts and stay up to date with technology trends that will affect users. They will be comfortable taking concepts & wireframes to create beautifully designed visuals ready for production. The UX/UI designer will require a designers pixel perfect eye, knowledge of design software, Interaction design and information architecture. They will be required to work across user experience design, Interaction design and visual design of prototypes, websites and applications alongside development teams to realise the vision.

Ultimately, the UX/UI designer will create both functional and appealing features that address our clients’ needs and deliver a great customer experience which will help us grow our customer base.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for delivering optimal user experience (UX) in website and email design while implementing effective functionality/navigation, based on industry best practices and consumer insights.
  • Hand over designs to developers across front end and back end development.
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
  • Utilise analytical & research tools to make informed design decisions when optimising the user experience for existing websites.
  • Knowledge of the potential and limitations of web technologies such as HTML, Java Script and CSS.
  • Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.
  • Design graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets.
  • Build page navigation buttons and search fields.
  • Develop UI mock-ups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how sites function and look like.
  • Prepare and present rough drafts to internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider marketing team (consisting of Designers, Front End Developer, Copywriter, Communications & Brand Team, Digital Marketing, CRM and Product Experts) and internal clients to deliver integrated web-based and non-web-based marketing materials, conceptual campaigns and communications for B2B & B2B2C.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness).
  • Adhere to design systems and style standards on fonts, colours and images.
  • Work within our CMS solutions to improve our websites.
  • Work with development teams to improve our BUX and customer portals.
  • May support with other design requests across marketing assets such as social content, banners and brochures when requested by the manager.

The successful candidate will hold the following essential skills & experience:

 

  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role
  • Portfolio of design projects
  • Knowledge of wireframe tools
  • Up-to-date knowledge of design software like Adobe CC, Sketch
  • Knowledge of tools such as Google Analytics, Hotjar, Adobe Target
  • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
