Our Clients internally developed broker software, built upon the ASP.Net stack, lies at the heart of the business - they need a new Developer to help them to keep it beating strongly. Working closely with stake holders, you’ll be helping maintain existing code as well as developing new functionality. The development team is small and friendly, working using an agile approach to projects, so you’ll have lots of support where needed. Being open to new ideas and technologies, and with a number of green field projects coming up - you’ll have your chance to make your mark very quickly!

Do you have the essential skills needed?

  • Programming knowledge.
  • C# and VB.Net.
  • Maintain professionalism.
  • Display patience and politeness within a sometimes-pressurised environment
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels of seniority and liaise effectively with other internal departments.
  • Good team working skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good problem-solving abilities.

What will your working week be like? 

  • Work with team of developers to extend and maintain in-house system.
  • Consult with stakeholders about business requirements.
  • Build applications to stakeholder specifications.
  • Customise current applications in line with changing business needs.
  • Evaluate performance of applications.
  • Test and implement system updates.
  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable code.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to address these issues.
  • Help maintain code quality and organisation.
  • Demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed and flexible attitude towards other team members, recognising the importance and benefits of effective team working.

These skills would be an advantage:

  • Knowledge of .Net, Visual Studio and testing frameworks
  • SQL Server
  • Net
  • UX experience (Angular)
  • Consuming and publishing SOAP/REST services
  • Experience of GITHub
  • Understanding of OOP principles
  • Knowledge of design patterns, TDD and SOLID
