IT Support Assistant – Duties:

  • Assist in the update and maintenance of the Intranet
  • To manage the Phone Manager software to ensure that users are correctly logged in to their phone, setting up new starters/de-activating leavers, setting up voicemails and managing desk moves
  • Manage in-house and bespoke software including Equitrac and Bighand
  • Manage and maintain hardware including photocopiers and laptops
  • Manage routers/comms cabinet/switches/PCs and local network issues including wireless network / access points
  • Provide back up to the Information Systems Manager regarding primary to backup data line failover tests at all locations
  • Raising and monitoring issues with third party suppliers as appropriate ensuring a response within a reasonable time frame
  • Assist users in the setup of Skype and other online meetings/webinars/video conferencing
  • Assist users with the correct and secure copying of files from both inside and outside of Citrix/local PC to external drives/CDs as requested
  • Assisting in induction and desk side training for new users on all software packages and systems
  • Ensure the permissions on secure contact/clients/matters are set up correctly within Peppermint (Internal database) and any related network/SharePoint folders are secured correctly and fully tested
  • Monitor the operations support dashboard for any issues with the internal database (Peppermint issues and approvals and work with the internal development team to resolve any failures or irregularities
  • Complete IT set up checklists for all new staff/staff changes/leavers

 

 

The Successful IT Support Assistant will have:

 

  • A minimum of 12 months First Line Technical Support Experience
  • Able to demonstrate good general IT knowledge and ability
  • Any experience of providing support for bespoke software would be an advantage, as would any experience of training users.
  • Experience with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, VBA, CRM and HTML would be an advantage. Experience of working within the Legal Sector would be an advantage
  • A commitment to quality and a logical approach to work
  • Fantastic user facing / customer service skills and the ability to communicate well with all levels of user within an organisation.
  • A good standard of education.
