One of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in England. Established in 2004 with a vision to create "Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community" and have since grown into a family of 49 Academies across the UK! Currently serving over 25,000 young people! My client is looking for a candidate with experience as a Project Manager, to manage all aspects of the ICT integration and improvements on selected ICT projects within the organisation.

 

Due to the size of this organisation there will be national travel involved (including some overnight stays), as well as time spent working from home. Please only apply if you are happy to travel and have a clean licence and your own car.

 

The Project Manager Role:     

  • To project manage designated ICT aspects of particular projects within the organisation’s programme for expansion and infrastructure improvements and on behalf of the organisation’s IT services department for third parties.
  • To work with the business leaders to capture the requirements for any project in the form of a scope of works, project plan and budget.
  • To champion and where appropriate suggest improvements to the standard technical solution.
  • Under the direction of the Senior Project Manager, matrix manage internal IT staff, 3rd party and other organisations.
  • To utilise Prince2 methodology to deliver and regulate quality on IT projects associated with workstreams.
  • To work with stakeholders including building contractors, local authority contacts, suppliers, senior educational leaders and other senior managers to ensure that requirements are understood and considered in the wider plans.
  • To compile Scopes of Work, Project Start-up and Initiation Documents and Budgets.
  • To manage the implementation phase of the project, using both internal and external engineering resource.
  • To manage the handover from the project team to the IT support team as its successful conclusion.
  • To produce timely MI for projects including project plans, RAID logs, resource plans, programme directories, business cases and regular financial reports.

 

The Project Manager Candidate:   

 

  • Proven experience of working as a Project Manager.
  • Experience of delivering technology solutions for critical line of business activities in the public or private sector.
  • Ability to plan, monitor and provide effective reporting on the progress of projects.
  • Ability to track and manage budget allocations providing timely reports.
  • Experience in full end to end lifecycle project delivery.
  • Ability to create and comment on technical documents.
  • Prince2 Practitioner / PMI preferred.
  • Knowledge of the education / NGO sector preferred.
  • Knowledge of any of the following; DPM, Exchange, Group Policy, Hyper-V, Server 2008, HP / Cisco hardware would be a bonus!
  • Proven experience of seeing a project through to completion, achieving project outcomes.
  • Ability to plan, monitor and provide effective reporting on the progress of projects
  • Experience of working with Microsoft Office in particular, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Project
  • Project Management Qualification e.g. PRINCE 2

 

Due to the nature of this position that you will be required to undertake a full DBS/CRB check.
