This is initially a 6-month contract role for a global information provider who are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager on a contract basis.

The Quality Assurance Manager role will involve:

  • Creating and implementing a strategy driving the quality of our clients products to a world class level while managing a team of Quality Assurance professionals.
  • In addition to experience with building and leading successful test teams, the client is looking for someone to drive quality through both software and process improvements and drive engineering excellence across multiple development teams.
  • The successful Quality Assurance Manager will be obsessed with quality improvement, experienced and highly committed to creating world class automation for regression and feature testing, able to develop and drive a high-level test and automation strategy, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing that strategy.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Work with business and development teams to understand product vision and requirements
  • Understand how all elements of the system software ecosystem work together and develop QA approaches that fit the overall strategy
  • Own development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses Oversee the development and execution of test plans and monitoring and reporting on test execution

 

The Quality Assurance Manager will have;

  • Experience managing Quality Assurance Teams
  • Experience managing manual and automation testers
  • Strong QA background with experience in identifying and reviewing test plans, test cases and testing results
  • Experience defining and building Tools and Methodologies in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in testing high-performance, highly-available and scalable distributed systems.
  • Experience with employee development, performance management and delivering results.
  • Problem-solving skills and the abilities to analyse quantitatively, scope technical requirements and effectively prioritize program deliverables.
  • Presentation and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build partnerships with senior leaders across a variety of groups throughout the organisation.

Skills required;

  • 7+ years of industry experience with at least 3 years in a QA Manager role
  • Experience of working within the Financial / brokerage industry
  • Strong QA background with experience in identifying and reviewing test plans, test cases and testing results
  • Experience defining and building Tools and Methodologies in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in testing high-performance, highly-available and scalable distributed systems.
  • Experience with employee development, performance management and delivering results.
  • Problem-solving skills and the abilities to analyse quantitatively, scope technical requirements and effectively prioritize program deliverables.
  • Presentation and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build partnerships with senior leaders across a variety of groups.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in an agile development environment and continuous integration/deployment
  • Experience in testing web technologies and back-end services. Understanding of Java technologies
  • Experience with systems automating client / server testing with a heterogeneous mix of client applications and devices
  • Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness
  • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
  • Experience with functional, performance, and stress testing for large scale products
  • Experience driving technological and process innovation partnerships with senior leaders across a variety of groups.
