Our client, an outstanding charity organisation are looking for an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join them on a permanent basis. Benefits include: 31 days rising to 35 days holiday after 3 years of service (inc Bank Holidays), pension and life assurance.

 

Job Purpose of the IT Systems Administrator:

To establish a stable and resilient service across the estate, ensuring effective delivery of ICT through a variety of systems used by the organisation. The role will involve delivering key aspects of technical management and guidance to the ICT team, while undertaking systems administration and technical project work.

 

Duties of the IT Systems Administrator:

  • To maintain the operational delivery of ICT services via the timely response and resolution of incidents and general requests, within agreed Service Level Agreements.
  • To delivery routine systems administration at infrastructure‐level, maintaining key ICT services, systems and operations across the organisation.
  • Assist in the safe‐guarding of ICT services from security threats via proactive management of updates and patches to key systems and infrastructure.
  • Monitoring of key ICT services and systems, highlighting security and performance issues, taking actions as directed.
  • Actively contribute towards our digital strategy, implementing and supporting projects in accordance with defined processes.
  • To manage and maintain the IT asset inventory, working with the ICT Services Manager on equipment and systems replacements where needed.
  • Deliver on‐site support where needed across the estate, inclusive of general systems maintenance and ad‐hoc training at the Hospices.
  • To maintain effective communication with external organisations in relation to any escalated issue, in addition to handling procurements and other matters as directed.
  • Promote a culture of self‐sufficiency and collaboration in relation to digital technology across the organisation. Provide appropriate advice and guidance to all levels of staff where needed.
  • To ensure adherence to standard operating procedures surrounding IT documentation and processes.
  • To correctly handle data and material relevant to the role, maintaining good practice in relation to GDPR.
  • To offer innovative and coherent direction in the development and delivery of the wider technical services strategy.

 

What experience you’ll need to succeed as the IT Systems Administrator:

  • Must have a driving licence
  • Technical Qualification: MCSE (current) certification
  • Recent extensive experience of working in an IT Service Desk environment in a 2nd Line role and providing to multiple remote locations
  • Demonstrable experience in systems administration in relation to:
    • Group Policy Management
    • Active Directory & Azure Active Directory.
    • Exchange or Exchange Online.
    • Microsoft InTune
    • Mobile device & mobile application management.
    • Anti-Virus, Security & Patch management via WSUS
    • Systems deployment via WDS/MDT
    • Infrastructure management & monitoring
  • Extensive experience of supporting a wide-range of different hardware devices and software applications including mobile devices.
  • Experience of installing, troubleshooting, using and supporting Microsoft Office 365 to an advanced level
  • Experience of installing, troubleshooting and supporting operational software (e.g. financial applications, web-based applications, CRMs, anti-virus, backup etc.) to an intermediate level
  • Experience of troubleshooting and diagnosing networking / connectivity issues at intermediate to high level
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of LAN’s, WAN’s, VPN’s and common networking configuration and components
  • Demonstrable experience in systems administration in relation to: Group Policy Management, Active Directory & Azure Active Directory, Exchange or Exchange Online, Microsoft InTune, Mobile device & mobile application management, Anti-Virus, Security & Patch management via WSUS, Systems deployment via WDS/SCCM
