The Head of IT position:
The Head of IT Services must devise and subsequently implement the client's ICT Strategy. This will be through the delivery of high-quality information, communication and infrastructure services and providing robust secure physical and virtual environments which provide students and staff with systems that enhance the teaching, learning and assessment experience whilst ensuring that ICT infrastructure and systems are secure (able to deal with threats from the changing operating landscape). The systems architecture and design also need to be flexible enough to quickly adapt to evolving technologies and the changing needs of our students and staff.

What will the Head of IT be doing?
* Contribute to the overall development of the client by maintaining the current strengths, designing, developing and implementing the ICT Strategy and development plans, working with all internal and external stakeholders, understanding and interpreting their needs. To include responsiveness to develop and implement new IT plans and policies to meet the changing IT needs of the client.
* Provide leadership and management of the Group's IT team (and resources) and ensure that the IT Services Department is suitably structured and resourced to deliver first rate, customer-focused IT services whilst ensuring the underpinning infrastructure is secure and current, within a changing business and financial envelope (The Team deliver the following services: secure IT environment resolving internal and external threats, network management and support; support of systems and applications; user support; service desk and back office operations).
* Ensure that the Group's IT infrastructure and network are well managed and maintained, in an efficient and effective manner.
* Support the Group's day to day operational IT, AV and telecommunication needs.
* Establish and maintain robust Business Continuity Plans and IT Disaster Recovery Plans in compliance with Group policy.
* Maintain robust IT security, to include ensuring learners are safeguarded when using IT at the Group. To also prepare reports as needed by the safeguarding team to support them in safeguarding the Group community.
* Ensure motivation, productivity, training and development of the team are at the core of delivering an outstanding service.

In depth Technical expertise in:
* Relevant IT/Technical qualifications or Certifications
* The latest Microsoft Windows server installation and management
* Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager
* VMware; ESXi and vCentre
* Veeam Back-up and Back-up Exec
* Microsoft exchange server
* Microsoft Active Directory / Group Policy Management
* HP storage management
* Cisco routers and switches management; and
* Microsoft SQL server installation, maintenance and development

* Experience of leading and managing a professional IT services function delivering the full breadth of IT Services:

* Significant proven experience of managing a medium/large sized team, to include dealing with all aspects of performance management
* Experience of setting, monitoring and reporting individual and departmental performance targets.
* Experience of managing and delivering timely and within budget medium/ large scale IT capital projects over a short to medium term time frame.
* Experience of managing revenue budgets
