IT Support Engineer working for an incredibly prestigious and reputable organisation within the education sector. The organisation is one of the UK’s leading college with an outstanding working environment in which the IT Support Engineer can progress.  The IT Support Engineer will be joining the clients Computer Services Team.

 

IT Support Engineer Duties:

 

  • To provide 1st and 2nd line Helpdesk Support and advice to end users throughout the college.
  • Administer the Computer Services helpdesk system, ensuring calls are logged and allocated to comply with SLAs.
  • To be responsible, under supervision, for maintenance and repair of workstations, computer peripherals and audio-visual equipment.
  • To undertake such other reasonable duties as requested by the Computer Services Manager; To install and configure PC hardware, software and peripherals.

 

IT Support Engineer will have the following technical expertise and experience;

 

  • A full valid driving licence and own transport will be required. Casual car users allowance will be payable.
  • Experience supporting PC Hardware and software – Microsoft Office and Windows
  • Minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent
  • Will ideally have IT qualifications such as Microsoft Certifications – MCP, MCDST, MCSA etc.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 / 2012 administration, Windows 7 and 10, Active Directory, Exchange etc.
  • Experience of working within the education sector will be given preference!
  • Desirable - Experience supporting audio visual equipment or Apple Mac systems / Experience managing software packages for backup, anti-virus and security (Norton, MacAfee, Sophos, ESET, Bullguard).
