Our client is a growing and successful software solution provider in the geographic information sector. Their clients are wide across the UK and they are continually expanding. Offering the opportunity to learn about their software and business development, this client will extensively grow your career.

 

Are you a recent graduate with a desire to get into a testing position? My client is looking for someone with a passion for testing who has recently graduated in Computer Science or have a Computing related degree. Knowledge of SQL is all they are looking for other than drive and determination as full training will be provided.

 

The Testing Role?

  • Testing GGP suite of products
  • Using pre-defined test scripts
  • Writing your own scripts and test plans
  • Maintaining the fault management system
  • Maintain existing tests and managing the overnight test process.
  • Creating and testing user documentation
  • Manage the testing process. Research and introduce more formal testing procedures.
  • Collate testing statistics for use by management and the lead developer
  • New product features to be documented in the bug tracking system
  • Liaising with technical author to provide list of new features and product changes for the technical newsletter and online help
  • Any other tasks when required to assist departments where necessary

 

Requirements?

  • Degree educated in preferably Computer Science or Software Engineering, with GIS knowledge
  • The ability to understand and analyse technical documentation and have an awareness of quality requirements for software development projects
  • To have an eye for detail and be methodical and disciplined
  • To be dynamic and able to apply yourself to changing work environments
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work under pressure but in a controlled manner
  • Expected to communicate and interact with other teams within the company on a day to day basis
  • To be able to communicate effectively in person, by telephone and in writing

 

Knowledge of:

  • SQL programming language
  • SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL (desirable)
  • Mantis (desirable)
  • Klaros (desirable)
  • Sugar CRM (desirable)
