Technical Support Analyst – Retail Systems

Our client is a global leader in what they do; they are well-known, highly regarded and value their staff hugely.

 

They are looking for a Technical Support Analyst in Retail systems to provide a point of escalation for all POS enquires, dealing with broken kit and dealing with third party maintenance teams. Supporting over 350 retail branches, the Technical Support Analyst is responsible for providing support to the existing Software Retail Systems Operation Team.

 

Due to the nature of the role, some out-of-hours work may be required. Work is completed on a shift basis and there is an on-call rota. However, the hours of operation are sociable.

 

The Technical Support Analyst will:

 

  • Provide 3rd line technical analysis and support
  • SME in technical and functional use of services
  • Handle daily Incident, Problem and Change management liaising with all levels of stakeholders within the retail organisation as well as 3rd party suppliers
  • Review and understand log files – utilising multiple approaches to solve problems
  • Plan maintenance work and release planning including technical updates
  • Work with development and test teams to help with the transition of new releases into support

 

The successful Cobol Support Analyst will have:

 

  • Retail experience
  • Experience of working in a 2nd and 3rd support function in a fast moving, customer facing environment
  • ITIL – Service Management Methodology
  • Experience of SQL (SQL Server or Oracle as a preference), or No SQL Database experience
  • Experience of working in an office-based support role

 

Ideally, you will also have:

 

  • Experience of Self Scanning, Service Counter Scales, Click & Collect, would be useful, however the main requirement is EPoS (point of sale)
  • Experience of Microsoft SCCM
  • External relationship management
  • Experience of working across different departments
  • Commercial experience of working with 3rd party suppliers
