Our client is one of the largest, fastest growing retailers in the UK. We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join them on a permanent basis, to work at their head office in Croydon and provide remote support to 100’s of locations across the UK.

 

This is an extremely varied and interesting role, covering all aspects of Infrastructure, from server issues, to till troubleshooting to iPad and Wi-Fi connectivity as well as IT projects. Sound interesting and something you would love to be a part of? Apply today!

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Help drive Infrastructure strategy, providing recommendations to Infrastructure delivery and management on service improvements.
  • Provide administration, support and management of the production environments.
  • Responding and resolving issues that affect internal and external customer system availability
  • Provide highly specialised technical expertise to support and maintain multiple environments and demonstrate an awareness of the associated IT Services.
  • Partner with the various technical teams to develop and implement solutions.
  • Work with 3rd party vendors, ensure SLA, OLA and KPI’s are reviewed and met.
  • Conduct complex technical analysis to resolve system problems, ensuring procedures and processes are followed and or enhanced for system changes.
  • Produce (and as required) present management information to line manager

 

Technical Skills:

 

Essential

 

  • MS Windows 7 & 10, Server 2008 & 2012
  • MS Office 2010 – 2016.
  • Office 365 Cloud Support
  • Active Directory and Microsoft core services, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
  • Exchange 2003 & 2013
  • Understanding of VPN and experience of Junos Pulse, Pulse Secure, Juniper and user authentication solutions.
  • HP & Dell storage, server and workstation
  • Virtualisation using VMWare vSphere 5.5 or later
  • NetBackup & VEEAM
  • Mobile Application/Device Management
  • Enterprise endpoint security experience
  • Forefront Threat Management Gateway (TMG)
  • LAN and WAN troubleshooting
  • IP Voice and Telephone support

 

Desirable

 

  • Vendor certification; Microsoft and VMWare.
  • Dell EqualLogic iSCSI SAN.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL and Oracle.
  • Service Now or Top Desk.
  • Microsoft In-Tune
  • Sophos Safeguard encryption and AV
  • SAN Storage experience
  • Apple Mac, iPhone and iPad devices.
  • Adobe Creative Suite.
  • CCENT qualified preferably CCNA
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Cisco switches and routers
  • Network and Equipment management: VLAN/VPN configuration, access control, Firewalls and VPN, analysing networks, and core connectivity
