IT Service Delivery Co-Ordinator / Field Engineer:

 

Our client is an innovative and successful IT company with head offices in the Croydon area. They have contracts with clients all over the UK and due to continued success and an incredibly loyal client base, they are now looking for an IT Support Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. There is huge opportunity within this role for you to progress your skills and technical knowledge, and play a key role in all areas of the business including operations and client retention as well as IT Field Support. You will be working to resolve IT issues adhering to strict SLA’s, dealing with a wide range of IT hardware issues, but you will also have the opportunity to attend site visits and play a key role in IT projects. The sky is the limit with this role!

 

The Service Delivery Co-Ordinator: An example of daily activities could include:

 

  • Taking calls from customers, resolving hardware issues over the phone and visiting their site locally to provide repairs.
  • Ordering new hardware and negotiating prices with suppliers.
  • Producing bids /quotes for new clients, including researching and negotiating prices as well as supplier management.
  • Producing reports for suppliers and clients.

 

Service Delivery Co-Ordinator – Technical Requirements:

 

  • Experience in a similar role (working with external clients preferred) and a desire to work in a more varied role.
  • Experience of field visits / supporting users face to face
  • Technical knowledge of servers, storage (EMC Net Apps), data centres, basic networking (command-line, switching, routing etc.) as well as hardware repair (HP, Dell etc.).

 

We are looking for an IT candidate who is extremely flexible, as some of the field visits are completed out of hours (overtime is paid and time off in lieu is offered and these visits are scheduled ahead). You will need to be a driver, ideally with your own car, and be happy to travel to client sites with full expenses paid.

We are looking for someone who has experience of supporting clients, either remotely through a helpdesk system, or by visiting client sites. You will have good diagnostics experience and a knowledge of hardware (Dell/HP etc.), as well as the basics of networking and server, firewalls, switching, command-line, storage and data centres.
