We have a completely unique opportunity available within a successful company who have developed their own dynamic online analytics platform. This role would give you the opportunity to work on a completely unique, world class platform within a very well established development team.

This role could suit a junior-level PHP Developer (Circa £25,000) or a mid-level Developer (Circa £35,000).Sound interesting? Do read on….

 

PHP Developer Responsibilities:

 

  • Working in a team defining patterns, processes and architecture
  • Contributing to the delivery of agile projects by liaising with stakeholders and forming specifications for new functionality
  • Writing clean, well-structured OOP code
  • Optimising MySQL and AWS technology usage to scale beyond 2.5 million daily search results
  • Contributing to maintenance and devops in order to keep our app running 24/7

 

What we’re looking for in a PHP Developer:

 

While relevant experience is great, we’re also looking for the right person - applicants who are bright, proactive, learn fast and share our vision for clean, well-architected software. You will love creating elegant software solutions, fuelled by a passion for computer science and the theory of programming. You keep track of current trends and new technologies and are able to appraise these critically. You take full ownership of your work and are comfortable being responsible for delivery but you are always looking to learn from those around you.

 

Required skills:

 

  • Familiar with object-oriented programming in PHP in modern MVC frameworks
  • Understanding of software design fundamentals and an ability to write well structured, maintainable code
  • Understanding of MySQL and relational database fundamentals
  • Highly articulate communication skills and strong attention to detail

 

Advantageous Skills:

 

  • Big data, large scale web apps and optimising MySQL
  • Administration of Amazon AWS services such as EC2 and RDS and DynamoDB
  • Linux server administration
  • Unit testing
