About the Company:

My client, one of the UK’s largest and most successful retailers, are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their team on a permanent basis, to be responsible for the full lifecycle of projects, starting with a large warehouse management system project.

 

This role would suit a candidate from a business analyst or retail background, ideally with some supply chain / warehouse management knowledge, strong stakeholder relationship management skills and a great personality!

The Business Analyst Role:

 

This role offers masses of ownership / autonomy as you will be responsible for liaising with key multiple stakeholders over multiple sites in the UK and therefore we are looking for someone with confidence and the ability to work under pressure. There is an element of travel involved in this role, so you must have some flexibility. Alongside the main IT projects there will be smaller projects across the business which will involve business process, creating efficiencies etc.

 

Business Analyst Duties:

 

  • Develop strong relationships with key business stakeholders acting as the ‘face of IT’
  • Work alongside Project Managers to facilitate successful delivery of IT projects
  • Support business stakeholders with business case production including business, technical and financial feasibility assessment
  • Partner with the business to methodically investigate, analyse, review, define, shape and document both functional and non-functional business requirements, and in some cases translate these into IT system requirements.
  • Where appropriate, understand, document and some cases re-engineer business processes (As Is and To Be)
  • Ensure that what the business is trying to achieve is fully understood without jumping to any IT solution
  • Analyse the impact of any IT change requests and push back constructively when this may impact the delivery of the overall business benefit e.g. may delay the go live of a project
  • Ensure the traceability of requirements through to end user testing
  • Assist the business stakeholders in the definition of roll out plans, communication and training and user support plans to effectively land any IT change into the business
  • Occasionally undertake project management activities on small, discreet pieces of IT change work

 

Ok, so over to you! Our perfect Business Analyst candidate will have;

 

  • Experience within a similar role as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience of high level stakeholder relationship management (across multiple sites).
  • Experience of working within the retail sector / knowledge of supply chain, warehouse management or distribution centres preferred.
