Our client, an exceptional financial services organisation who operate globally, are looking for an experience BAU Test Manager to be responsible for coordinating and managing the testing of BAU Testing for systems (front, middle and back-end) and interfaces.

 

The job holder will provide guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution, whilst managing all test processes, including supporting creation of test plans, resource and demand management, costs, timescales, test deliverables and traceability.

 

The BAU Test Manager will need to manage and develop relationships with senior business stakeholders to enable the test team to forge relationships with relevant business areas to enable definition of acceptance criteria aligned to the risk appetite of the business.

 

The BAU Test Manager will possess experience ideally within a similar role in the Financial Services Industry, and be comfortable with their ability to advise on improvements in test processing.

 

The Test Manager – Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • Produce and manage Test Strategies and Test Project Plans
  • Test Team resource management
  • Manage the relationships with Project Stakeholders, internal departments, external users and 3rd party interfaces.
  • Maintain & manage the Test Environment Roadmap with regard to priorities, resources etc.
  • Manage the Test Environments with regard to code control, version control, configuration management etc.
  • Fault Management. Monitor risk and management of business risk appetite
  • Implement improvements to the efficiency of testing undertaken
  • Advise on method and process for best testing practice
  • To participate in and sometimes lead the resolution of priority and change conflicts between projects
  • Establishment of virtual test teams and leadership of the team’s activities
  • Forecast the testing capacity needed against the plan and ensure that the capacity is in place to meet the plan

 

The Test Manager Candidate – Over to You!  Our ideal candidate will have;

 

Experience:

 

  • At least 5 years recent, continuous experience of Test Management with demonstrable experience of delivering projects to time, quality and budget
  • Experience of BDD, TDD, ATDD, Shift-left and Shift-right concepts in testing
  • Experience of Managing End-to-end Testing on 3 major projects (testing time greater than 3 months)
  • Demonstrable experience of introducing Automated Functional Testing to an organisation
  • Minimum of two years Quality Centre/ALM with experience using Requirements, Test Plan, Test Lab and Defects and Reporting functionality
  • Demonstrable experience of introducing Non-functional Testing to an organisation
  • Experience of integrating new application/business functions into existing BAU activities

 

Knowledge/Skills Required for the Test Manager:

 

  • Ability to communicate effectively and liaise on a technical level with Business Analysts, Developers and Operations to gain required knowledge for the design and creation of testing plans, scripts and supporting documents
  • Ability to perform Project Management duties including planning, issue/ risk management, governance
  • Able to work within Waterfall and Agile project management frameworks
  • Experience within the financial sector beneficial
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to adapt communication style to all levels of staff
  • An understanding of the end-to-end process of project lifecycles
  • Experience of working with 3rd party software suppliers
  • Understanding of Fault Tracking and Management
  • Understanding of Risk Based Testing methodologies
  • Stakeholder management and conflict resolution
  • Ability to work across multiple initiatives adjusting to shifting priorities
  • An understanding of the end-to-end process of an IT project lifecycle
  • Understanding of Fault Tracking and Management an advantage
  • Experience of using HP ALM or Quality Centre an advantage
  • Ability to communicate effectively and liaise on a technical level with Business Analysts, Developers and Operations to gain required knowledge for the design and creation of testing plans, scripts and supporting documents
