We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Support Engineer.  Our client is an exciting, growing IT Support company based in Farnham with a loyal client base of a mix of SME's and global companies.

The role will require you to work both at their offices on the helpdesk but also occasionally on-site at clients. It is therefore imperative that you are smart, polite and have impeccably strong customer facing and communication skills.

You will be working alongside the existing technical team dealing both with direct calls and enquires from clients as well as escalated and delegated requests from within the team. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills very quickly and play a key role in IT projects for clients. You will have a bright, cheerful personality and will be keen to work hard. Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

 

  • 2-3 years' experience within a varied IT support role, with a desire to work on 1st, 2nd line support issues.
  • Experience of supporting a range of hardware and software.
  • Experience of (or a desire to) work on site in front of clients.
  • Experience with Active Directory, networking, routers, firewalls, VPN's.
  • Knowledge of virtualisation technologies ideally.
  • Some networking experience of TCP/IP networks, wireless, DNS, DHCP etc.
  • Previous experience of working in an education environment would be highly desirable.
  • In addition, knowledge in the following areas would be preferable; Anti-virus, back-ups, Exchange, Wi-Fi, hosted email, printers, wireless, other peripherals, setting up new users, server support including virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMware) etc.
