About the Company:

 

My client, one of the UK’s largest and most successful retailers, have recently introduced some new stock guns into their stores (hand held terminals) and are looking for a Tester to run tests on these products and ensure they integrate correctly with current retail systems.

The main purpose of the role is to prepare, carry out and document tests in accordance with scenarios defined by this Product Owner and allocated by the Project Manager.

Tests will be particularly for, but not limited to, a new hand held terminal solution.

Support for testing of other IT applications may be required. You will be expected to be thorough and structured in your approach and to log your test results clearly.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Contribute to test planning
  • Work with Product Owner to identify test scenarios and create test scripts
  • Work with software development team to identify system and integration testing requirements
  • Testing of new software development
  • Test ad hoc changes to modified software
  • Recording of test results accurately
  • Maintain and update logs of results in relevant systems
  • Escalate significant test failures
  • Collaborate and communicate to colleagues effectively
  • Continually review scripts for relevance and accuracy
  • Provide support for production monitoring and assist with production issues as required

 

Technical requirements:

 

  • Previous experience of testing desirable
  • Basic training in testing methodology desirable
  • Retail background and experience in using all functions on current HHT
