About the Job

We’re looking for a talented and creative backend lead, with a proven track record of building microservice applications using Python. You will work as the backend lead developer in a cross functional team, having ownership and responsibility for leading the development of our backend infrastructure.

About You

You will have a hands-on approach and an eye for detail. You will be responsible for ensuring work on the backend is designed and delivered to a high standard, maintaining the quality and integrity of the application. This includes guaranteeing that code is implemented in the correct service and that the focus of said service isn’t unduly changed.

You will be the authority when it comes to inter-service API design.

Experience within fin-tech is a bonus but not essential - you’ll need to learn and understand foundational accounting knowledge and forecasting principles with support from your fellow team.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 5+ years of experience ideally with Django and Django Rest Framework
  • Excellent knowledge of Python, contemporary standards and tooling
  • Excellent knowledge of RESTful API design, standards and best practices
  • Good knowledge of MySQL
  • Proven history of working within a microservice architecture
  • Proven history working on data intensive applications
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals: design, testing, deployment, version control
  • And eagerness to learn new things and take on a challenge

In return, our client offers the chance to play a key role within a global organisation, with great benefits and career opportunity.
