Are you an experienced IT Support Engineer with good technical skills and a passion for supporting a wide range of customers? This role would suit an experienced 2nd Line Support Technician looking for a fresh challenge.

We are working with a fantastic IT company based in London who are looking to grow their team. They have a fantastic environment and are looking for someone with relevant IT support experience who is looking for a varied and interesting role, supporting external clients in London. This role will be based in Potters Bar and will predominantly be providing remote support and assistance to a wide range of clients and playing a key role in interesting IT projects.

 

About the Company:

 

My client is a very well established IT Support Company with a local client base of local SME’s. The working environment is second to none, working in an exciting and fast paced environment with a great team of colleagues. We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer who can be based at their head offices in Potters Bar, providing mostly remote support for a variety of clients across London. You will be play a key role in a wide range of exciting projects.

 

What is a typical day as an IT Support Engineer:

 

  • Providing support and carrying out projects
  • Exchange 2010+ maintenance
  • Router and Firewall installs
  • DNS, DHCP and File Systems
  • Networking diagnostics, TCP/IP, packets, understanding how a network works and ability to diagnose these problems remotely.
  • To act as a resolution point for other Engineers

 

Our Perfect IT Support Engineer:

 

  • Will have previous experience in a similar role – providing 2nd line support to a range of clients.
  • Ideally will have experience of working with external customers, experience of working for an MSP / IT Support company is a fantastic bonus!
  • Technical skills and expertise in the following;
  • Windows Server 2008+
  • Microsoft Exchange
  • Active Directory and Group Policy
  • MS Office Applications
  • Networking
  • In addition, any additional skills in the following would be a bonus, not a requirement!
  • Microsoft Lync Server, Microsoft SharePoint, Citrix Applications, SQL, Linux, Cisco, Vmware, vSphere (VCP)
