This person will join a vibrant team who are responsible for providing technical Cisco support to users, assessing problem solutions and designs and providing constructive feedback. The role starts within the service desk, going on to add field engineer responsibilities as confidence and capability grows. Clients typically operate within the retail, manufacturing, finance, technology and professional services industries, and the technologies covered include everything Cisco (switching, wireless, collaboration, Data Center, cloud, security, Meraki etc). The Junior / Trainee Cisco Support Engineer Responsibilities:

 

  • As the Service Desk Engineer you will act as the first point of contact, recording all contact on our service desk tool
  • The primary objective of the service desk role is to provide FTF (First Time Fix). This will be achieved by trouble shooting, diagnosing and resolving incidents/request at FTF or escalation.
  • Through this role, you will remain as Single Point of Contact with the customers; maintaining ownership of the original fault and acting as the main point of contact between the customer and the technical teams.
  • As the candidate progresses, the role will grow to include field engineering responsibility including delivery of technical projects.

 

Training:

 

  • Full career training will be provided through a combination of online resources, direct Cisco training at Cisco offices and formal residential courses to attain Cisco certifications.
  • Candidates will be expected to be highly motivated to learn, train and advance, we expect engineers to be ready for their own projects within 1-2 years.

The Junior / Graduate Cisco Engineer Will:

 

  • Have a confident and professional manner both face-to-face and on the telephone.
  • Be self-motivated with an eye for detail.
  • Will be a natural problem-solver: to understand and anticipate a customers’ needs.
  • Will have the ability to work autonomously and as part of a successful sales team.
  • Will have a willingness to learn about the full range of Cisco products, services and technology to a technical level.

 

In addition, any of the following would be a bonus, although is not a requirement;

 

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate
  • Certified Meraki Network Associate
  • Certified Meraki Network Operator
  • Coding skills (Python, JavaScript, NodeJS, HTML, CSS)
  • Experience within a technical services environment
