YourRecruit is currently looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer for an industry leader in detection technology, providing inspection systems and services for ports, borders, and checkpoints. They help their customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling and trade fraud.

 

An exciting opportunity to join an industry leading organisation as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, where you will provide mechanical design for systems, sub-systems, components and tooling for novel x-ray baggage screening systems. This will require competence in precision engineering design and will include the creation of 3D system models and associated 2D drawings. As a a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will also be expected to provide day to day direction to other team members and may have some line management responsibilities.

 

Salary:                                  Up to £45,000 + Benefits

Location:                             Redhill, Surrey

Start:                                     Immediately

Working Hours:                36.5 Hours a week. Monday to Friday – Early finish on Friday.

Holidays:                             22 Days annual leave, increasing yearly. Includes Bank Holidays.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop detailed mechanical components and assemblies from concept through to production.
  • Work with other mechanical engineering resources both in-house and external to ensure detailed manufacturing drawings are accurately generated.
  • Work in collaboration with Systems and Electrical/Electronic Engineers as part of the overall design team.
  • Assemble and test delivered parts and produce reports on sub-systems and / or complete systems.
  • Identify critical to quality design parameters and annotate drawings accordingly.
  • Support the manufacturing team during production and assembly.

Skills:

 

  • The individual must be degree/HND qualified in Mechanical Engineering and mechanical design experience ideally with industrial machinery.
  • Extensive experience of Autodesk Inventor and Vault or equivalent CAD packages.
  • Understand Quality Assurance processes and procedures.
  • Hands on approach and be capable of mechanical assembly.
  • Experience of Ultra High Vacuum and High Voltage design concepts and processes desirable.

 

The job will be predominantly based at their offices based near to Redhill, Surrey but may entail occasional working away from the office which may also include overseas travel.
