An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior 3rd Line Server and Systems Engineer to join my client’s growing IT team. This is a great chance to be part of the IT team in one of the largest, dynamic, multi-academy trusts in the UK. This Senior Systems Engineer is a business-critical role providing technical leadership for the National Infrastructure Team, and being the ultimate point of escalation for their incident management processes in support to over 35,000 users in over 52 locations around the UK.

With nearly 100 dedicated IT professionals with a range of specialisms, our client operate a sector leading IT provision across over 50 locations utilising enterprise technology deployed via a private national wide area network. Their solution is built on the latest Microsoft and Cisco Technology providing a dynamic and robust IT environment for our internal clients. With a recent investment of £3.5 million in IT systems, this is an exciting time to be joining the family of professionals.

The successful candidate:

  • Strong IT background, keen approach to customer service and the ability to identify incidents whilst setting key priorities.
  • Experience in a senior IT role, and experience writing technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of all Windows operating systems, and strong Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019 administration.
  • Experience and knowledge of remote desktop/network monitoring and delivering projects is advantageous as well as hands-on working knowledge of MDM functionality and large-scale iOS deployments.
  • A willingness to travel is essential.
