This well-established transportation company operate circa 400 buses and coaches in Brighton and Hove, Crawley and surrounding counties. The brands have won numerous awards, and are particularly noted for a high quality, environmentally sensitive operating model. The business turnover is around £85m, and is part of the Go-Ahead Group plc, a FTSE 250 company and one of the “big 5” public transport operators in the UK!!


Job Summary:


To support the production of quality management information (MI) and operational efficiency through the use of key business systems. To ensure system data integrity and enhancement of system reporting alongside project support for system efficiency enhancements, process improvements and user support for new system implementations. Constantly challenging processes and striving for continuous improvement.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • To support management with the continual development of quality MI though improved system use and development
  • To support the business in the design, implementation and production of KPI reports
  • Liaise with the business to ensure data integrity within core business systems
  • Consult with business to understand processes and areas of inefficiency and recommend appropriate solutions where possible
  • Ensure appropriate level of business system training is delivered to users
  • Project support for system efficiency enhancements and process improvements, liaising with the wider business, the Go-Ahead Group and external suppliers as required
  • Super user for core business systems
  • Advise management of business system developments and potential opportunities
  • Promote a culture of improving efficiency and productivity through the use of business systems
  • To support the IT department with various administrative tasks; Active Directory, user account management, reporting and process improvement


We are looking for:


  • Strong systems skills, with the ability to design and implement new reporting and processes
  • Knowledge of SQL / databases and a programming language would be highly desirable
  • Experience of core business systems (DAS, EPM, Equinox, Mix) would be an advantage but is not essential
  • A self-starter with the ability to effectively prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • A high level of accuracy
  • A skilled communicator with the ability to build effective interpersonal relationships and work well in a team
  • The highest levels of honesty and integrity
  • An inquisitive mind, with a proven track record of problem solving, project management and continuous improvement in a business environment
