IT Support Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Support Technician to work within a growing IT team within the Education sector. You will support three schools / academies in the Sheffield area, both at Primary and Secondary level and all within 3 to 4 miles of each other.

Our client is one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in England. Established in 2004 with a vision to create "Exceptional Education at the Heart of the Community" and have since grown into a family of 52 Academies across the UK! Currently serving over 25,000 young people!

This Academy trust are working with the newest technologies and have rolled out Ipads to all students and teachers across the country.  An understanding or proven experience of Apple products would therefore be a bonus (Apple, MAC, MDM).

Suitable candidates will ideally come from an educational background and would have gained at least 1+ years’ experience within a deskside support role. You need to have the confidence to work under pressure, utilising your own initiative and communicate effectively with students and teachers.

Salary: £20,000 - £21,500 plus outstanding benefits including 25-30 days holiday, final salary pension, payment allowance for training and accreditations (Microsoft etc.). 

Location: Sheffield, S9 3TY – covering 3 sites (Own transport is essential)

DBS: An enhanced DBS check will be carried out

You will be entitled to a fantastic benefits package which includes payment for industry recognised training (e,g Microsoft Certified Professional, ITIL Foundation and Apple), the opportunity to work with new technology, a pension scheme with a Local Government pension provider, a generous holiday allowance starting at 25 days per year, rising to 30 days after five years (plus 8 Bank Holidays).

Are you the right candidate for the role?

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Minimum 1 year IT Support experience
  • Will ideally have IT qualifications such as Microsoft Certifications – MCP, MCDST, MCSA etc.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 / 2012 administration, Windows 10, Active Directory, Exchange etc.
  • Experience of using a service software package and working to an SLA.
  • MAC support, MDM
