We are currently recruiting for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to work for an incredibly prestigious and reputable organisation within the education sector. The organisation is one of the UK’s leading college groups with an outstanding working environment in which the 2nd Line Support Engineer can progress.  Joining the clients Computer Services Team, this role will require the successor to play an integral part in the technology programmes of which the college of recently invested heavily in.

 

£24,000 to £26,000 DOE plus excellent benefits (Generous holiday entitlement, onsite parking, retail discount scheme, Gym on Site, Discounted Salon, excellent pension scheme, Costa Coffee Shop on site, Nursery Facilities and much more)

Monday to Friday 8:30 – 17:00

2nd Line Support Engineer Duties:

 

The role will be to provide IT support to end users throughout the college, as well as maintaining and driving the development on college-based systems and projects on the horizon, including:

  • Maintain and develop new starter admin processes.
  • Integration between MIS and computer service systems
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate documentation and provide report to Computer Services Manager
  • Support and develop college Online learning platform.
  • Provide 1st and 2nd Line helpdesk support and advice to end users throughout the college including students, Academic teaching staff, Support staff and Adult Education Coordinators.
  • To install and configure PC hardware, software and peripherals.

 

 

2nd Line Support Engineer will have the following technical expertise and experience.

 

  • Minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 / 2012 administration, Windows 7 and 10, Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange etc.
  • Exposure to PowerShell and any database programming languages are essential
  • Experience of and maintenance of account creations and deletion process essential
  • A full UK driving licence required due to travel between sites
  • Desirable - Experience of any other networks admin processes would be beneficial
