My client provides innovative technology for commercial buildings that enables intelligent control and monitoring of the environment and energy usage. Due to business change, they are now looking for a passionate Front End Web Application Developer to add to their dynamic and creative team of coding enthusiasts.

 

Due to the current climate my client has changed the set up of “business as usual” and therefore are offering remote working (Some expectations of 1-2 visits to the office in Burgess Hill per year, or more if you wish) therefore will consider applicants who come from further afield.

 

Let me tell you more about the role…

Working for an SME, you will be a part of a small team, therefore must have the ability to work independently, taking ownership of your work. You will be, one of two, solely responsible for front end development; therefore will be results oriented with a strong customer/client focus. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, and you will be self-motivated, with accountability and sense of ownership.

  • Responsible for the development of web applications for the products using a range of libraries and frameworks such as React, Backbone, jQuery and others, using JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Design your own low complexity graphics (i.e. icons, buttons, etc.).
  • Liaise with fellow developers in order to work together towards a high standard result.
  • Update project tracking information to keep records of bugs and project progress.
  • Responsible for keeping your work safe and up to date in our version control system.

 

Proficiency with the following is essential:

HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery

 

Experienced in:

React, Responsive design, Model-View-Controller pattern, Front-end design (both UI and UX)

 

Beneficial experience:

Backbone, TypeScript, JSON, XML, Sass/SCSS, Node.js, RequireJS, Grunt,

  • JavaScript libraries and plugins in general
  • Large single page applications
  • Development for mobile devices
  • Security minded
  • Creative design (artistic)
  • Linux OS
  • Embedded systems
  • Version control software

 

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Benefits: 20 days holiday plus BH, Company mobile phone and laptop, discretionary bonus, pension.
