Our client is a well-established IT support company, providing business to business IT support services who have a growing customer base and are now seeking a 1st Line Support Technician! Job purpose of the 1st Line Support Technician:

The role of the 1st Line Support Technician is to deliver a professional and exceptional level of customer service to the client’s varied and growing client base. You will be acting as part of a fast moving, dynamic and technically capable team responding to 1st Line Support requests via telephone, email, in person and via on-site visits whilst continuously meeting customer service satisfaction and service delivery demands.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties of the 1st Line Support Technician:

  • Promptly respond to inbound support calls, log reported incidents via the helpdesk system, accurately record the client details, nature of incident and level of urgency.
  • Complete the preparation of new computer set‐ups in the workshop within a specified timeframe.
  • Work through support tickets primarily working 1st line support work with a small proportion of 2nd line support work with assistance and training from other members of the team that carry out 2nd line support work.
  • Deliver a professional, friendly first‐class customer service where clients are regularly kept informed.
  • Accountable for personal ticket queue, updates and the completion of associated tasks, following the client’s escalation policy.
  • Maintain quality and accuracy with effective notes and a detailed explanation of work undertaken.
  • Be willing to attend training as necessary to keep up to date with the latest technology.
  • Comply with relevant legislation, internal policies and procedures.
  • Undertaking other reasonable duties not specifically stated which from time to time arenecessary, without altering the nature or level of responsibility.

 

What experience you’ll need to succeed as the 1st Line Support Technician

  • Previous experience in a customer facing environment
  • An understanding of Microsoft Windows client operating systems
  • IT Support experience (1st line, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP)
