My client, having been established for over 100 years, are a leading national charity who exist to improve the lives of children and young people. They now seek a Network Manager to join their 5-man IT Team on a permanent basis. The position will involve managing and developing all aspects of their Server, Infrastructure and Telephony, in addition to Project Work. With Headquarters in Lingfield, they offer world-class services including the provision of Residential Services, Education and Health Care to Children and young people in the UK.

 

 

Responsibilities/Duties of the Network Manager:

 

  • Manage relationships with external support providers to ensure minimum service downtime.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for systems.
  • Manage Windows Servers, Email Servers, Application Servers and Database Servers.
  • Manage SmoothWall Firewall and Cisco Switch infrastructure.
  • Manage Cisco WIFI Infrastructure.
  • Manage Mitel VOIP Telephony Systems.
  • Manage Security systems.
  • Document data compliance and procedures.
  • Complete regular server-side maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in resource allocation and delivery of project work.
  • Develop escalation and resolution procedures.
  • Report to the Head of IT on a regular basis on all aspects of support, to identify key areas, skills gaps and additional resource requirements.
  • Manage all data backups and maintain regular backups of all appliances and switches.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

 

Please note: The successful candidate will be required to undertake a full Enhanced DBS Check.
