The IT Systems and Service Administrator will support internal IT systems, providing third line support, and taking responsibility for scoping systems requirements and running IT projects. The successful Systems Administrator will be responsible for the following areas;

 

Project and Development Duties:

 

  • Working with stakeholders to appropriately specify new systems and services in line with teaching and learning requirements, and working with third party suppliers to technically scope, assure, and implement new systems and Services.

 

Service Duties:

 

  • Providing some third line support and assurance to first and second line staff on support calls which have been logged on the IT Service Desk.

 

Systems Duties:

 

  • Supporting, monitoring, maintaining and managing a wide range of technical systems associated with the IT infrastructure.

 

The successful Systems Administrator will have the following technical expertise and experience;

 

  • Extensive within a similar, senior role (ideally within the education / public sector preferably)

 

Experience with:

 

  • Developing, managing and supporting systems, services, networks, and infrastructure
  • Providing IT services for a large number of users (approx. 2000), such as filtered web access, data storage, email services, networked printing, backups, and various software packages
  • Current IT best practice, standards, and statutory requirements
  • Virtual platforms including servers, storage and backups
  • Multiple versions of Windows Server
  • Active Directory setups
  • Email platforms, both local and cloud based
  • Network services such as DHCP, DNS, LDAP, wireless, and VPN
  • Firewall and filtering
  • Windows and Apple Mac systems, software and services
