My client, a well-established, leading provider of IT, cloud and business telecom solutions, has grown their team considerably over the past year, and is now looking for an experienced 1st Line Support Engineer to join them on a permanent basis to help with their future expansion plans.

 

About The Client:

 

My client has a fantastic environment and are looking for someone with at least a year’s IT Support experience, who is looking for a varied and interesting role, supporting external clients in London. This role will be based in Potters Bar and will predominantly be providing remote support and assistance to a wide range of clients and playing a key role in interesting IT projects.

 

What is a typical day as a 1st Line Support Engineer:

 

  • You will perform a varied role, taking part in call-outs, service desk and workshop
  • You will be providing support to a wide variety of clients across London, gaining experience with the latest technologies
  • Exchange 2010+ maintenance
  • Router and Firewall installs
  • DNS, DHCP and File Systems
  • Networking diagnostics, TCP/IP, packets, understanding how a network works and ability to diagnose these problems remotely.

 

Our Perfect 1st Line Support Engineer Will Have / Will Be:

 

  • Hands-on experience of working in an end-user desktop support role or computer operations environment
  • Excellent Windows, Microsoft Office, Active Directory and Exchange skills
  • Remote support for end users
  • Patch management
  • Advanced printer / peripheral device troubleshooting
  • Remote support for handheld smartphones and tablets
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity processes
  • Knowledge of service operational processes and IT best practice
  • IT Cloud\Hosting knowledge
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Highly proactive
  • Energy, drive and commitment and a strong 'can do' mentality
