  • Are you an experienced Front End Web Developer who is keen to work for one of the UK’s largest and most successful retailers?

 

  • Do you have a proven track record of developing for desktop and mobile websites using HTML, CSS2/3, JavaScript, JQuery?

 

Our client are one of the UK’s largest and most successful retailers, with a number of exciting projects in the pipeline for 2018, and the need to take on an experienced Front End Developer on a contract basis. There is scope for extension and other opportunities within the business for the right candidate.

 

The Front End Developer Role:

 

The purpose of the role is to develop and amend customer-facing functionality of our client’s large-scale, ecommerce website. You will be working in an established team of developers working on both new project work and making amendments to existing features on the website. The website is a fast-growing business steam within the company and the roadmap for the site is extensive.

 

The Front End Developer Duties:

 

  • Analyse and define customer journeys on a number of complex, multi-layer, ecommerce desktop and mobile websites
  • Deliver online functionality, on  time and to specification based on business requirements
  • Collaborate with other developers, testers and BA’s to deliver complete development solution
  • Trouble-shooting and fixing website and associated applications issues
  • Provide expertise and best practice development approaches
  • Researching, analysing and suggesting new website functionality
  • Wireframes and proto-typing user experiences
  • Help with upgrades and patches on the website platform

 

Technical Requirements:

 

  • Ideally educated in a technology-related qualification or have some demonstrable experience in this field
  • Have a strong knowledge an proven track record in using HTML, CSS2/3,JavaScript, JQuery and WordPress
  • Experience in using version control software such as SVN and GIT
  • Ability to apply designs created in Adobe Photoshop
  • Excellent knowledge of W3C web standards and browser compatibility issues
  • Experience in working within the retail environment
