Working for an incredibly specialist business who are looking for an IT Support Engineer to act as the stand alone support for the business. Looking for someone who is confident with great experience. The working environment is second to none and he or she will take a lead in the IT area and will have the ability to grow the team in future!! Covering two main office sites in Horsham and Sevenoaks.

 

The IT Support Duties:

 

To ensure that the IT operations remain effective and accessible you will be required to:

 

  • To provide employees with access to the IT systems.
  • First point of contact for troubleshooting issues and act the main focal point for help and advice for all IT issues.
  • Install and support software (Windows, Mac, Linux, Norton Anti-Virus etc.), as well as hardware including processors, RAM, graphics cards, sound cards and drivers.
  • Administer servers (Windows Server 2008, 2012) and perform fault finding through remote services (TeamViewer and WebEx).
  • Support SharePoint.
  • Provide remote IT support to Site Teams in respect of the Tablet and iPad roll out programme.
  • Manage the IT equipment and mobile phones on behalf of the company, record their allocation and distribute accordingly.
  • Determine and establish the permissible rights of each employee in terms of access to company information held within the IT system.
  • When new hardware or software is required, provide advice on what is most appropriate to the business and purchase on behalf of Company Group.
  • Responsible for managing backups and tape rotation.
  • Setting up and configuring new laptops and desktops, install authorised software and ensuring security and upgrades are applied and kept up to date on desktops and laptops including appropriate antivirus installation.
  • Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software.
  • Exchange server mailbox maintenance including archiving mailboxes.

 

The IT Support Engineer will have the following technical expertise and experience;

 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint – ESSENTIAL.
  • Great IT Skills and knowledge of hardware and software applications.
  • Proven track record as a successful ICT specialist.
  • Knowledge of Server 2008 / 2012.
  • Confident to work on your own.
