MUST BE A DRIVER AS TRAVEL MAY BE REQUIRED TO DIFFERENT SITES ACROSS MIDLANDS.

 

The position will be to contribute to the effective delivery of IT services through supporting and maintaining a variety of IT systems used by the organisation. The role will involve providing technical support and assistance, undertaking system administration and technical project work.

 

The IT Support Technician / Systems Admin Duties:

 

  • To participate in the operational delivery of IT services through the timely response and resolution of incidents, problems and service requests within agreed SLAs.
  • To lead on routine administration and maintenance of key IT services, systems and infrastructure across the organisation.
  • Assist in the safe-guarding of IT services from cyber-threats through timely management of updates and patches to key systems and infrastructure.
  • Proactively assist in the monitoring of IT services and systems, highlighting security and performance issues and taking actions as directed.
  • Actively contribute to digital and implementation projects by undertaking changes and actions in accordance with defined processes.
  • To liaise with external organisations in relation to escalated issues, procurements and other matters as directed.

 

Our Perfect IT Support Technician / Systems Admin Will Have The Following Experience / Skills:

 

  • Recent extensive experience of working in an IT service desk environment in a 1st or 2nd line role.
  • Experience of providing IT supporting to multiple remote locations.
  • Demonstrable experience in system administration in relation to: Active Directory / Exchange / Antivirus etc.
  • Experience of liaising with external support teams / organisations.
  • Experience of installing, troubleshooting, using and supporting Microsoft Office Standard Applications (Office 2007 upwards, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, One Note).
  • Experience of installing, troubleshooting and supporting operational software.
  • Experience of troubleshooting and diagnosing networking / connectivity issues.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of current technologies in the Microsoft product stack (Office 2010+, Server 2008R2+, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and related technologies such as virtualisation.
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of LANs, WANs, VPNs and common networking configuration and components.
