About the Company:

My client, one of the UK’s largest and most successful retailers, are looking for a candidate to be responsible for the analysis phases of projects. This role would suit a candidate from a business analyst or project-based background (or similar), within the retail sector, with the ability to gather and translate requirements from technical teams.

The Business Analyst Responsibilities:

 

This role has primary responsibility for analysis relating to the internal website platform but may be required to work on other areas from time to time. Duties include providing analysis and subsequent detailed documentation of business requirements.  This documentation will be around business-as-usual work, and also all levels of projects. There may also be a requirement from time to time to manage and deliver small projects. Test planning and performing of tests in collaboration with test teams will also form part of this role.

 

Business Analyst Duties:

 

  • Liaising with appropriate teams to provide expert support and interpretation of requirements
  • Problem solving of issues encountered by system users on a day to day basis
  • Liaison with third parties such as Group IT to arrive at detailed scoping of business requirements
  • Scoping of requirements for new features and managing change requests through to approval and implementation
  • Owning, where required, individual small packets of work and projects from requirements, through testing and into production
  • Routine provision of test scenarios and interpret for test team to allow them to create scripts for loading to automated test tools
  • Analysis, testing and implementation of new functionality as part of a larger project team
  • Assisting in test planning and management for routine upgrades of the system

 

The Business Analyst Candidate – Key Requirements:

 

  • Experience of working within the retail sector (this is a must)
  • Desirable experience in SQL
  • At least 3 years’ experience of working in a technical environment
  • Understanding of system architectures
  • Some experience in eCommerce
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Previous experience of a hybris or similar website
  • Experience in testing and test planning
  • Previous experience of requirements analysis
