This is an exciting and varied role for an experienced JavaScript and Front-End Web Developer, where you will be working on a large scale web application using modern front-end technologies, and you’ll join a small team of experienced and talented developers where you’ll have genuine influence from day one.

The JavaScript & Front-end Web Developer Role:

Duties:

  • Implementing HTML, JavaScript, and SASS based on design specifications provided by the UX / Design team.
  • Maintaining, extending, enhancing and refactoring the existing frontend codebase.
  • Identifying opportunities to introduce new JS tools, frameworks and patterns into the app to produce modular, testable, re-usable code.
  • Keeping track of emerging trends in JavaScript and frontend development.
  • Contributing to documentation and creation of knowledge base.

Attention to detail and taking ownership of your work are critical. You will need a real interest and enthusiasm for Front End and JavaScript development and you will love learning about new technologies and following emerging best practise. While experience of enterprise software development is essential, don’t worry if you don’t have years and years. We welcome applicants who are bright and enthusiastic and can demonstrate an aptitude for software engineering.

The JavaScript Front-end Developer Candidate – Required Skills:

  • JavaScript development, within an enterprise webapp.
  • Knowledge of application design patterns, software engineering fundamentals and ability to write clean, consistent code.
  • Knowledge of a modern framework (e.g. angular, backbone, vue, knockout, react)
  • HTML/HTML5, SASS and CSS/CSS3.
  • Mobile-First, Responsive web design, and developing for touch devices.
