Due to the nature of this position you must have a full clean driving licence and your own vehicle. You must also appreciate, due to the nature of this position that you will be required to undertake a full DBS/CRB check.

 

The Data Protection Manager Role:

Is working for an exciting organisation which is currently expanding rapidly, and therefore needs an expert who can lead the Data Protection function within the large organisation on a permanent basis. You will be the Data Protection expert within the organisation and will champion the cause of data protection and privacy within the organisation.

The Data Protection Manager Will Be Responsible For:

 

  • Leading the Data Protection function within the organisation.
  • To be the Data Protection Expert.
  • To champion the cause of data protection and privacy across the company including raising awareness of the importance of effective Data Protection and Privacy practice and the serious consequences for non-compliance.
  • Be responsible for designing and enacting the delivery of data protection, privacy and compliance arrangements including developing and managing the response to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • To provide expert level advice to the Head of IT Services and other Senior Leaders on data protection and privacy related issues.
  • To fulfil the requirements of the legal role of ‘Data Protection Officer’.
  • Supporting the alignment the IT systems and processes with compliance regulations.

 

The Data Protection Manager Candidate:

 

The successful candidate will have;

  • Expert level knowledge of Data Protection Law and Practice.
  • Experience of working in a data protection role including developing and leading data privacy improvement initiatives.
  • Experience of leading projects at an operational level with direct project delivery experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in network and data architecture.
  • Will be degree qualified (or equivalent experience) with ideally at least one of the following; Data Protection Certification, BCS Information Security Management Principals; BCS Foundation in Data Protection, BCS Practitioner Data Protection/Information Risk Management/Information Assurance Architecture, ITIL Foundation, IT Security Certification, Certification in Microsoft SQL Server, Prince2 Foundation/ Practitioner.
  • In addition, any knowledge of the following would be a bonus; Experience of working with Microsoft Office 365 tools, experience of data protection in the education sector, knowledge of common educational systems (such as Sims.net) and procedures, knowledge of IT Security best practice
