2nd-line Network Engineer Role:

This role is working for an established company that offer a full range of IT Support services for SMEs in London. Our client has a growing technical team and they are seeking an highly experienced 2nd-line Hardware and Network Engineer to carry out support via phone or remote sessions and client-facing work including, on-site deployment, support, maintenance and project work. The candidate should have a strong background in a similar role and be able to demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills across various types of technology.

 

The ideal candidate will have recently worked for another managed services provider or IT reseller. The successful candidate needs to have superb communication skills, both written and verbal, strong organisational abilities and good decision making skills.

 

2nd-line Network Engineer will possess the following:

 

Must have

  • Experience in deploying, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft Desktop and Server Operating Systems, including Active Directory Group Policies, DHCP and DNS for Windows Server 2008+
  • A Working knowledge of Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Networking knowledge, covering routing, switching, firewalls
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange installation and maintenance

 

Should have

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and Office 365
  • Experience with Draytek, Cisco (Meraki) and Netgear devices
  • Hardware and software diagnostic experience, with the ability to recognise and resolve common issues in Windows and Macintosh, including iPhones, iPads and Windows Tablets

 

Responsibilities:

  • Sever and Network configuration and maintenance
  • Upgrades, imaging, configuration and data transfer
  • Broadband support
  • Keeping accurate records of work completed along with documentation according to our standards
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary
  • Some Hardware support and installation may also be needed
