IT Support Engineer Duties:

  • To provide 1st and 2nd line Helpdesk Support and advice to end users throughout the college.
  • To prepare and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Administer the Computer Services helpdesk system, ensuring calls are logged and allocated to comply with SLAs.
  • To be responsible, under supervision, for maintenance and repair of workstations, computer peripherals and audio-visual equipment.
  • To undertake such other reasonable duties as requested by the Computer Services Manager; To install and configure PC hardware, software and peripherals.

IT Support Engineer will have the following technical expertise and experience:

  • A DBS / CRB Check
  • Experience as a 1st and 2nd Line support
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Experience with Windows10
  • Excellent customer service skill
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience in supporting Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems and application software
  • Excellent system administration
  • Hands-on experience with equipment - laptops, desktop and peripherals
  • A full valid driving licence and own transport will be required. Casual car users allowance will be payable.
  • Minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent
  • Will ideally have IT qualifications such as Microsoft Certifications – MCP, MCDST, MCSA etc.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2008 / 2012 administration, Windows 7 and 10, Active Directory, Exchange etc.
